At Forgotten Thoroughbreds, Inc. we have brought together a unique blend of talents, knowledge, and skills. Those who know us have come to expect the differences we bring about with our results-proven approaches. In a few words, here’s what sets us apart:
Ø We are not an equine rescue—we are a Thoroughbred rehabilitation, retraining, and Ø We are leveraging existing, proven subject matter experts who are recognized in their respective fields. Ø We possess a unique blend of expertise in equines, equine management, business management, planning, and budgeting to develop and guide our organization. Ø We believe in getting personally involved with each horse and in getting our hands dirty, so that we are keenly in touch with each horse. In so doing, we can better develop, implement, and tailor individualized plans for each horse. Ø We recognize that we have soft hearts for these horses, but we also realize that slow, well-thought-out growth is our key to sustainability and long-term success. Ø We believe that it is crucial to educate our volunteers and potential adopters and keep them informed of best practices and safe handling procedures and techniques. Ø We spend significant time evaluating each horse’s areas of strengths, abilities, and attitude to determine what discipline(s) might best suit the horse. Ø We believe in carefully evaluating and matching each potential owner-adopter and horse to find the right fit. Ø We support the Thoroughbred racing industry, and hope that our efforts will improve both the racing industry, the future of Thoroughbreds who are finished racing, and the public’s perception. Ø We consistently produce results with the horses we rehabilitate and retrain. Ø We have hands-on, successful, real-world experience in equine rehabilitation and in project management and business. Ø We understand how, when, and where to insert business management principles and best practices, and furthermore, we know the importance of scaling the requirements to “right-size” them to each project or endeavor. Ø We are continuously learning from others and the horses, and are continuously improving.
