Judy Furie, MS, MBA, PMP - Co-Founder and Executive Vice-President 

Judy is the Co-Founder and Executive Vice-President of Forgotten Thoroughbreds. She has over 20 years of extensive experience covering the entire spectrum of horses, horsemanship, horse management, barn management, farm management, training, dressage, jumping, pleasure riding, grooming, nutrition, and veterinary care. In addition, Judy possesses over 30 years of experience as a subject matter expert, program manager, executive management consultant, and biomedical research scientist for government and industry. She has extensive experience n all facets of management including, but not limited to: planning, stakeholder analysis and management, risk management, communications, work breakdown, budget, schedule, earned value management, quality management, troubleshooting projects, and correcting troubled projects.

In addition to her love of and experience with horses, Judy brings her innate business acumen and skills in strategic planning, budgeting, forecasting, estimating, writing, proposal work, and documentation skills to Forgotten Thoroughbreds. She is leveraging her talents and expertise as a subject matter expert to ensure that Forgotten Thoroughbreds is established on the cornerstone of a solid business base in order to ensure its viability and long-term success. Judy is a Project Management Professional (PMP), certified in accordance with the rigorous international standards of the Project Management Institute (PMI); she also holds an MBA. She is drawing on her expertise in these fields to ensure that all relevant areas of this venture are adequately identified and addressed.

Judy also holds an MS in Biomedical Science, with concentrations in cellular biology, immunology, physiology, and physiological chemistry. She continuously researches and analyzes information regarding nutrition, performance, and supplementation of horses in order to identify promising products for application in the equine arena.

She also has a keen interest in alternative and complementary therapies, such as acupuncture, acupressure, energy healing, and related modalities. Judy seeks out, evaluates, and studies different modalities of healing for application both on people and animals. She holds internationally recognized certification as a Reiki Master, Reiki Sekhem-Seichim-Reiki practitioner, Quantum Touch practitioner, Shamballa Multidimensional Healing practitioner and teacher, and Integrated Energy Therapy (IET) practitioner. Judy has succesfully applied many of these healing techniques on horses.

In her spare time (yes, she manages to eke out some free time here and there!), Judy enjoys her family, her horses, her dogs (Mi-Kis and Yorkies), ballroom dancing, needlepoint, and reading.
